الملخص

Maulana Muhammad Tahir alias Md Tahir or Tahir Saheb was an Assam origin Bengali theologian, his birth place is Karimganj (formerly Shylhet of Bangladesh) of Assam state. He migrated to Calcutta (presently known as Kolkata) on 4th April of 1949 when he had joined with Calcutta Alia Madrasa (now Aliah University) by the instruction of his teacher Shaikhul Islam Hussain Ahmad Madani and became indigenous of West Bengal. He was simultaneously a renowned Islamic scholar, preacher, prolific writer, Islamic lawyer and jurist, professor of hadith, social reformer, skilled organizer and leader, champion of religious aspects of Arabic and Urdu language for Bengali speaking Muslims and freedom fighter during the thirties and forties of twentieth-century.
